How We Started...
The Cameroon Education Corporation (CEC) is a recognized non-profit organization established in 1997 in Nashville, Tennessee, and currently headquartered in Buea, Cameroon. The organization is dedicated to fundraising efforts aimed at the development of the Children’s Reading Corner Library, the CRC Remedial Nursery & Primary School (CRC.Rem) in Buea, and the RCSS, also situated in Buea, Cameroon.
Meet the Team
The Cameroon Education Corporation (CEC) is founded and led by accomplished women of color who possess exceptional qualifications.
Our History
CRC. Rem provides pre-nursery, nursery, and primary remedial education to children (ages 3 to 14) of underserved Cameroonian and neighboring communities. The Mission of Cameroon Education Corporation is to instill a solid educational foundation which will enable the pupils to become proficient, competitive, and more successful in subsequent phases of their lives.

CEC is planning to offer similar services to secondary school students. The CEC is working on a project to build a secondary school in Buea: The Remedial Comprehensive Secondary School (RCSS).
The Children's Reading Corner, a library annexed to the school is managed by the CEC. This library, open to the community of Buea, has sections for children and adults.

Additionally, CEC organizes a Spelling Bee competition twice a year. It's a spelling competition of words in the English language. All primary schools are invited to participate to give to their pupils an incentive to improve their spelling.

CEC is managed by the president, Prof. Lydia Luma, a retired professor of the University of Buea, a specialist in education, vice-presidents, Dr. Marjorie Agboraw, a private medical practitioner, and Dr. Andrew Molindo and the secretary, Dr. John Takem of the University of Buea.
